In 2007, a team of 35 women from Rye calling themselves Sole Ryeders participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, a 39.3 mile walk throughout New York City. They let their hearts carry their soles through countless steps of training and a life-changing weekend which ultimately became the foundation of the SOUL RYEDERS organization.

2017 marked the last year for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Over 11 years, SOUL RYEDERS teams raised close to $1 million dollars to support The Avon Foundation and inspired over 300 women and men to participate.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer played an integral role in the inception and early growth of our organization.

We will be forever grateful for its existence and for each of our walkers who trained, fundraised, supported, inspired, and helped SOUL RYEDERS grow into a robust, sustainable non-profit organization.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer created precious memories and lifelong friendships.
